During our plant identification workshop in Grass Valley, we worked with a few plants from the BriarPatch Native Plant Demonstration Garden. The garden is maintained by the Redbud Chapter of CNPS. The following are the native, perennial grasses we keyed out:

1. Hordeum brachyantherum ssp. brachyantherum
2. Festuca idahoensis
3. Poa secunda ssp. secunda

Plants keyed out during our workshop in Rocklin:

1. Clarkia concinna ssp. concinna
2. Lepidium flavum var. flavum
3. Lathyrus vestitus var. vestitus
4. Sphaeralcea ambigua var. rugosa
5. Astragalus breweri or A. rattanii ?

Plants collected near Kramer Junction (Hwy 395 and SR 58) in the Mojave Desert. Keyed out during our workshop at the Center for Plant Diversity at UC Davis:

1. Syntrichopappus fremontii
2. Leptosyne calliopsidea [Coreopsis calliopsidea]
3. Pectocarya recurvata
4. Pectocarya sp. - likely P. linearis ssp. ferocula and/or P. platycarpa
5. Lupinus odoratus
6. Mentzelia albicaulis
